Our stay was just okay. The beds were comfortable and it was a place to sleep and eat. We wouldn’t stay here again. Everything was incredibly run down. Litter outside. The screen on the window was ripped, the outdoor wash-off shower was rusted with water shooting out of holes, room not especially clean, patches of different colors of paint on walls, and issues getting enough hot water. Then the parking. You pay for a room but you don’t get an assigned parking spot or any guarantee that you’ll get a spot! Getting in and out was stressful as traffic is only one way and so tight. At one point I had to move my car (from its parking spot) so the person across from me could get out. They’d benefit from the most basic maintenance to rooms and assigned parking at a minimum.
You get a lot for a very reasonable price. The apartment we had featured a full over/stove and fridge. The location is right on the beach. Would it use some touch ups ? Sure.....its an older building. But, you can see where they have worked to bring in updates. Thiz is npt a luxury resort. A motel to check all the boxes. The bed was comfortable. The shower was hot.We had real meals home cooked. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend for anyone with pets especially. It was never even a question about our puppy. We were very impressed by this motel despite its age and minor flaws it was a perfect fit for our family and budget.
This place is amazing. A quick trip up the stairs and you're on the beach. A beautiful pier right beside you. The rooms were clean, they leave towels several times a day. Quiet, roomy, and minutes from anything you'd want to shop or eat. Highly recommend it.
This hotel was a perfect little gem of a place to stay at while in the OBX. It was in a great area/location, STEPS from the beach and a pier. The hotel is older, but our room was clean, cool, and quiet. There is a pool but with the ocean being STEPS away, we spent most of our time there. I would definitely come back and stay again, even request the same room!
I will start by saying that the staff upfront were friendly. We chose to stay here just because the place we normally stay did not have any rooms available. We opted for one of the split rooms they had available. When we arrived the first problem we ran into was parking, this place has a very tight parking lot and little options available especially if you are driving a pickup truck. The room was not at all in good shape and had several issues and looked like it had flooded at some point and was just patched back together, the room felt very damp. The room was also not very clean, there was dust everywhere and you could tell someone hadn't done a very good job. The gas stove in the room had food all under the cook top and the burners were loose it seemed so unsafe we opted against using it altogether. The air conditioning unit in one of our rooms did not work and the room stayed hot during our visit. The last thing is we went with our kids both of them are younger. The door has no safety from the inside even when the deadbolt is turned it opens right up. It would be nice to see an additional mechanical deadbolt or chain to keep the kiddos inside and safe. I will post photos of the room. Again this particular room looks to have had some flood damage, it could be nice if they spent some money on a solid renovation.
