I checked into this classic oceanfront motel during my coastal road trip and found it to be an absolute gem for a relaxed, nostalgic getaway. The location is perfect since it sits right on the dunes, allowing me to walk straight from my doorstep right onto the wide sandy beach in a matter of seconds. My vintage-style room was spotlessly clean and very well-maintained, giving off a cozy, old-school beach cottage charm that felt incredibly peaceful. The property grounds are wonderfully family-friendly with a nice refreshing outdoor swimming pool and a playground area, making it a fantastic, unpretentious spot to unwind and listen to the ocean waves without any of the noisy distractions of a major luxury resort.
The location of this motel is amazing. Literally inside the dunes on the beach. The rooms were small, but very clean. The staff was very nice! I feel like they went above and beyond. The parking lot is pretty tight. The pool was nice. We really enjoyed our stay.
If you're looking for a clean, relaxing beachfront stay with old school OBX charm, look no further! The location couldn't be better, with the beach just steps away. It's the kind of place that reminds you why family owned beach motels have such a loyal following. We had a wonderful stay. Highly recommended!
My husband, my 14-year-old daughter, and I stayed from a Monday to Friday. The room was nice, basic, with two beds, a dresser, cable TV, a nice-sized fridge with a microwave, and a very nice-sized closet. The bathroom was very clean. The nicest part was the beach access. Also, I loved the fact that there were no stairs to our room, just a few to the beach. We would definitely stay again if we go back to the area. The staff was always nice and helpful. Also there is a great pizza place walking distance across street.
We had a great stay overall! The room was very clean, and it was very easy to access the beach. The hotel is in a great location, and we really enjoyed our time there.
The only issue we experienced was with the air conditioner. It was running, but no air was coming out. Since it happened in the middle of the night and we were checking out the next morning, we didn’t call. I tried turning the AC off and back on, and it would blow very cold air for about five minutes while also spitting out some water, then it would stop again. Unfortunately, the room became very hot overnight.
The next morning, we planned to let the front desk know when we turned in our keys, but no one was in the office, so we just left. My sister also isn’t one to complain or make a big deal out of things, so we didn’t pursue it further.
Other than the AC issue, everything else was great. The room was clean, the beach was easy to get to, and we would definitely consider staying here again.
