The staff was friendly and welcoming. Daniel was our server and he was fantastic and attentive. The cheeseburger was huge! The steamed shrimp were also huge and cooked perfectly (they were not deveined, however). The sweet tea is fresh brewed. The Margarita Shrimp Pasta was delicious with a flavorful light cream sauce. The coconut rice and the pickled cucumbers were also surprising hits. There is ample parking and a large bar with multiple tvs inside. I wish there was outdoor seating! The tables in the middle of the dining room are quite awkward and we kept getting bumped by servers, so that needs a bit of a redesign. Overall, 5 stars and can't wait to go back. We did in fact go back 2 days later, after a horrid experience at Jolly Roger's. The food was great again and the service was again stellar. Way to go! We will be back.

A local eatery offering great food & spirits! Our waiter was fast & attentive, the food arrived quickly and was fair priced. (The crab dip was really good!) There's an upbeat and inviting atmosphere with beach themed wall hangings all over the interior. They have their daily specials (note pic) that are not on the menu as well. Ample parking.

Great food, got there at 4:30 and got seated immediately as we missed the dinner rush. When we left around 5:15 there was definitely a wait for groups of 3+ people. We got Gluten free pizza which was fantastic, and the gluten free cookie skillet was great. Our only wish would be that the gluten free cookie filled the small skillet since it is a $2 up charge compared to the regular, and because it was so tasty we wanted more 😂. We will definitely be returning!

Me (celiac) and my boyfriend ate here. He got the hot honey salmon & i got the seafood trio. My food was 10/10, his came out cold and was listed spicy but was not. His serving was also pretty small for the price. Very busy with a 10 min wait. No celiac reaction:)

My daughter has celiac and eating out on vacation can be a challenge. The entire staff at Barefoot Bernie’s was knowledgeable and attentive to her needs. They have a ton of safe food options and a dedicated fryer for French fries. We went twice on our trip and it was fantastic both times! If you’re in OBX and need gluten free/celiac safe food options, don't miss this place!
