Overview

North Beach Campground sits directly on the beach in Rodanthe (MP 39.5), offering both permanent and nightly rental sites. Closed December 7 through March; off-season hours 7am-8pm daily.

Amenities

Love my Northbeach Campground, great store for all your needs!

This was a decent campground. The site was clean and nice. Pool was a bit small but it was clean and refreshing. The bathrooms were dirty and didn't even have hand soap at the sinks, and there was only one outside shower located in the pool deck. I was expecting some outdoor showers off of beach maybe at bathhouse. It was right on the beach, and we were blessed with good weather while there. The long term spots looked great, and I think it would be a great location for that purpose. We ultimately had a great time on vacation, will just maybe give another campground a try if we go camping again there.

No rules enforced. Adults were smoking at the pool when kids were swimming. People didn't clean up after their dogs. Beach was beautiful, but they nickle and dime you. Our spot was so tight, that left no room to enjoy the site. A tent was right next to us and we had no privacy at all. I think they gave us a tent site because all the others are taken by seasonal people. Bathrooms were dirty and no way to dry your hands. No paper towel or dryer. Only 2 people for the price. After that it is $10 a person. Won't be coming back.

We came to tent camp on the beach, and so did Hurricane Teddy. The owner was so kind, allowing us to move our site to the dry, grassy area of the campground for FREE until hwy12 reopened. The two tent sites are right behind the sanddunes to the ocean and they were amazing, if the wind was whipping with gale force and the high tides weren't demolishing to the entire town. The bathrooms are clean and the showers have hot water. The convenience store is fully stocked and has a little section dedicated to the history of the Midgett famliy and the coast guard ship named after them; very cool information. We cannot thank the owners enough for their hospitality and generosity. What was supposed to be 2 nights ended being 5!! Thank you so very much for giving us a refuge from the storm and the supplies to enjoy it.

Not friendly. Rude, rude to my children. One man came into our campsite and started yelling. We aren't trashy, loud, or doing anything to bother anyone. When I went into office to pay for the extra children they over charged me, then refused to give me my extra money back. We have been coming for years, and so have a few friends... None of us will ever go again. Ever. Terrible.... Don't recommend it. The maintenance man will complain about you if you have children, he'll do it right to your face. That's three sets of campers that will never come there again!! !
